Even though Kelly Clarkson is the product of a reality show, she has gained the respect of fans and some artistes as well. The American Idol winner celebrated her 28th birthday here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday 24 April. And we, her fans, celebrated with her at her All I Ever Wanted concert at Bukit Jalil Stadium on Sunday.

Minus drum roll and fanfare Kelley appeared suddenly on stage in a frumpy black top and knee length leggings belting out All I Ever Wanted, psyching up fans for more of her good stuff. And the good stuff included Miss Independent, Since U Been Gone, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Breakaway, Because Of You, Walkaway and more.
During her talking mode, Kelly expressed that people often ask her who she listens to and she said she listens to Kings Of Leon and Alanis Morrisette. Alanis, she said, has a very good connection with her audience -- something Kelly could use to make her concert better.
Yes truly, Kelly has quite a number of notable songs from her four albums, since winning AI in 2002. Well, although nothing visually stimulating in Kelly’s concert (c’mon how much of Kelly just jumping and singing – singing and jumping, with no change of clothes whatsoever can one take?), the fanboys and fangirls seemed pleased enough with Kelly just being in front of them live, sweating and singing her songs – both breakup numbers and happy tunes. Nobody minded that she didn’t look her best, nobody minded that she was tired even from the beginning or that she was berkaki ayam (barefoot) all throughout. There were no funny moments, no climax moment, no pulling up a fan onstage or any such camaraderie. Kelly merely came, saw, did her thing and left after hitting the high notes on My Life Would Suck Without You.
